Yes, I am the weird one. The one you occasionally see in the parc or the forest. The one who hugs trees. The one who believes nature heals, recharges, and revitalizes. The one that sits comfortably on the mountain top in silence, sharing the silence with the mountain and the ones that “get it”.
Moxie, my dog taught me that. You see, on my long walks with Moxie, I did most of the talking, clearly 🙂 Until one day when I allowed Moxie’s silence to embrace me. Until I allowed silence to speak to me. Until I truly learned how to listen. I had less words to say, I did not feel the need to prove my point and “be right” anymore. I understood what mattered to me and I decided to go for it. And if it so happens that others want to join me on my journey because it matters for them too, so be it. I do not need to convince anybody, I do not need to justify, explain, or expect. I do “my thing”, take care of myself and be of service to others in the best way I can. “Exploring life” is what I do when I hug trees. Sometimes I release whatever needs to be released, sometimes I simply rest on a dried up fallen tree trunk, sometimes I simply wonder at the beauty and majesty of a tree. I get strength, peace, and balance from my forest. I get harmony in my heart. This is why I hug trees sometimes. Try it one day! You may be surprised to find out that trees give the best hugs back !
