About Gabi
In my day-to-day practice as a veterinarian, I am Gabriela Rotaru or “Auntie Gabby” for all my furry patients and their families.
Cosac is my maiden’s name, and it has a profound meaning to me. It is the name I inherited from my grandmother, an exceptional woman, long departed from this physical world but living so vividly in my heart and my soul.
It is from her that I learned as a kid the meaning of self-care for the first time in my life. She had unshakable moral values that she passed on to me and my sister. She knew how to bring kindness and beauty into a world that was ruled by strict, rigid communist laws at that time.
There was a lightness and joy about her that stuck with me to this very day. She believed that music, writing and spending time with people we love make this world a better place. She loved making the space around her beautiful. “Have no clutter in the space around you. This will help you find clarity in your mind and heart” she used to say. Only later I understood what she meant by this. She believed in sharing our gifts with the world and helping each other live a beautiful and fulfilling life.
For all these and many other reasons, I decided to keep Cosac as my Author’s name. It is a tribute to my grandma, a guiding light for all my stories, a reminder that self-love and love for others is truly the essence of life.
